The Episode

After Tyler returns to Salvatore Mansion bringing the news of Markos’ plans to kill Stefan and Elena, Damon and Caroline enlist the help of Luke to take the two doppelgangers to Caroline’s family cabin for safety. Meanwhile, the other side continues to fall apart and a certain spirit wreaks havoc.

The Good

This episode, for the most part, was really enjoyable. I am so, so glad that the whole Stefan killing Enzo secret didn’t last for more than an episode, because frankly I would have stopped watching. It was that illogical.

Anyway!

Moving to a cabin in the woods seemed like a great idea at the time, I’m sure, but nothing is ever that easy in good ol’ Mystic Falls. And good luck generally doesn’t follow our favourite gang around, so, naturally a ghost decided that he wanted revenge for being murdered (even though it was technically suicide). That’s right! Enzo is back. I’m not complaining about it because his need for vengeance made for good TV and his particular flare for drama was in just the right amounts.

Caroline was a highlight, as per usual, and her little game to get Stefan and Elena to confess was crafty. Damon’s involvement just made it better. We’ve had hints of a Caroline/Stefan romance for the past few weeks, but I feel like this episode was a game changer. In the woods, when Elena was asking why Caroline thought her and Stefan we hooking up again, Caroline all but admitted that she liked him. “Are you over it?” Elena says… well, Caroline’s answer should have been a firm “no.” Then we have the ending scene, and Stefan says he didn’t tell Caroline about Enzo because he didn’t want her to think less of him. Okay, Caroline, I think he likes you to. Now, kiss!

Hm, even though Caroline didn’t kiss Stefan, Damon’s self control hit an all-time low and he kissed Elena. So much for not wanting to see her again. Speaking of cute Delena scenes, I loved the bathroom one! I also wanna say that while she was drowning, Elena still called out for Damon and I think that says it all.

Meanwhile, Bonnie and Jeremy are trying to have a romantic weekend to themselves but Grams interrupts and threatens to kick Bonnie’s ass if she doesn’t tell Jeremy about the state of the other side. Cause if the world of death goes, so does Bonnie. After discovering that Grams can touch things in the living plane, Enzo’s appearance at the cabin seems a little more worrying.

Another thing that’s worrying is the fact that Tyler has been taken over by a Traveller! I don’t particularly care for Tyler, but it’s just irritating, isn’t it? I don’t understand why the Travellers wife (I’m so sorry, if you understand that reference, it was unintentional) wanted to keep her husband in Tyler when he could have been in his body… what the heck?

And now that Markos has the doppelgangers, all of the supernatural community should be shaking in their boots, cause if Stefan and Elena aren’t saved, they’re toast. (They’ll be saved, let’s be real.

Speculation

There’s only one more episode until the finale and apparently there will be three deaths, so there’s something to look forward to! Also, according to TVD writer Caroline Dries, we’ll also be seeing some familiar faces. (Please bring Anna back. And Ric. And Jenna. Basically everyone except for Katherine.) Until next week!

Highlight

Damon punching Stefan was pretty good. I really would like to see some more Caroline/Elena scenes, because their friendship is the best. I did like the little screen time they had together as well.
